HARLINGEN — Police here continue to investigate an early New Years Day series of armed robberies in which a gunman is believed to have held up four convenience stores.
Surveillance camera footage shows a partially masked young Hispanic man in a coat at the scene of armed robberies occurring in the early morning hours of New Years Day.
“They are still actively investigating the case,” Deputy Chief Alfredo Alvear said Tuesday.
Police are urging residents with information to contact investigator E. Silva at 956-216-5492 or Harlingen Area Crimestoppers at 956-425-8477.
“The Harlingen Police Department is currently investigating several armed robberies at local convenience stores that occurred throughout Harlingen in the early morning hours of Jan. 1, 2023,” police stated in a Facebook post. “We are actively working this case and trying to identify the male suspect pictured. He allegedly committed four armed robberies.”
