A 75-year-old man walking north of Weslaco on Tuesday afternoon was hit and killed as he crossed the street.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said the crash happened at about 6:30 p.m. on FM 88 North of Mile 11.
A preliminary investigation showed he was crossing FM 88 east to west when a red Ford Mustang occupied by two women crashed into him as they traveled northbound on FM 88.
DPS identified the man as Weslaco resident Jesus Maldonado.
The agency didn’t immediately release any other information about the fatal crash other than to say that DPS is further investigating.
