LASARA — Authorities on Wednesday rushed two people suffering gunshot wounds to hospitals.
The shootings occurred about four blocks from Lasara schools, which Willacy County sheriff’s officials temporarily locked down, Superintendent Alejos Salazar said.
Willacy County Emergency Medical Services airlifted one victim, said Frank Torres, the agency’s director, while the other was rushed to a hospital.
On Wednesday afternoon, the sheriff’s department reported two males in Lasara had sustained gunshot wounds to the chest.
No other information was immediately available Wednesday afternoon.
