Harlingen police investigate ‘alleged home invasion’

HARLINGEN — Police took a suspect into custody Friday in what they described as an “alleged home invasion.”

Police said the incident occurred about 1:45 p.m. Friday “in the area” of 2800 N. 7th St. in Harlingen.

A police spokesman said he did not know whether a weapon was involved or whether the suspect demanded anything.

But the spokesman said no injuries were reported.

“We currently have one person of interest in custody at this time. No formal charges have been filed,” Harlingen police said in a statement.

“The alleged suspect vehicle has been located as well and is in our possession.

“This is an active and on-going investigation at this time.”
