Weslaco ISD announced Tuesday that it will provide school supplies for all students for the next school year.
According to a release, those supplies include things like crayons, pencils, notebooks, Kleenex tissue paper, Clorox wipes and Ziploc bags.
“I want our students to be in school and be in class and not worry about having the resources they need to learn,” Superintendent Dino Coronado wrote.
Supplies will be given to students at their campus at the beginning of the school year.
The release says the initiative was championed by Coronado — still a fresh face at the district — as a way for students and parents to prioritize learning.
