The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash that occurred around 5:30 a.m. in Progreso.
Weslaco resident Minerva Hinojosa, 37, was struck by a vehicle while walking northbound on Farm-to-Market Road 1015 and died at the scene.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Hinojosa was struck by a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado on FM 1015 just south of Rancho Toluca Road.
The driver stopped to render aid but Hinojosa died from her injuries.
