The Brownsville Police Department, along with community partners, will hold a candlelight vigil on Tuesday to remember those teachers and students who were killed in a mass shooting last week at an Uvalde Elementary School.
The vigil will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Dean Porter Park, formally known as Ringgold Park, located at 501 E. Ringg
Nineteen students and two teachers were gunned down inside their classrooms by an 18-year-old armed with an automatic rifle May 24, at Robb Elementary School.
Also sponsoring the event is the Rotary Club of Brownsville Sunrise, Rotary Club of Historic Brownsville, Rotary Club of North Brownsville, Brownsville Rotary Club, Satellite Club of Rancho Viejo and Revival of Cultural Arts.
All residents are invited to join and pray for the students and teachers.
