Texas Department of Transportation crews are currently working to clear debris from the westbound Interstate 2, according to an agency news release sent shortly before 9 a.m. The area of concern is in Weslaco, officials said.
“Traffic is being diverted off of eastbound Interstate 2 at Westgate, in the Weslaco area right now as crews clean up a half-mile-long rock spill,” officials said in the release.
It’s unclear how long the cleanup will take.
