Brownsville detectives are looking for the identity and whereabouts of men suspected of stealing televisions from Walmart.

“They put the TVs in a shopping cart, and then they just walked out,” said Investigator Martin Sandoval, public information officer for the Brownsville Police Department.

There were no encounters at the exit, Sandoval said.

“They just walked out,” he said.

According to police, two men arrived in a maroon SUV with paper license plates and then grabbed three televisions and exited the location without purchasing the items. Police published photos of two “persons of interest” they said are believed linked to the theft that occurred at the Walmart at 2271 Boca Chica in Brownsville.

“Crimestoppers has been receiving several tips,” Sandoval said, “and they have been forwarded to the detective in charge.”
