Edinburg police are currently searching for two suspects accused of participating in two aggravated robberies Saturday.
According to the news release, the two men entered a restaurant at around 6:30 a.m. in the 3700 block of West Monte Cristo Road where they proceeded to take an “undisclosed amount of cash from the register” after one of the men displayed a black handgun.
Shortly after they fled the scene, the same men were caught on surveillance video around 7 a.m. entering a grocery store in the 1900 block of North Sugar Road. Both men fled the scene with money from the register and the same man displayed the black handgun, stated the news release.
One of the suspects was described as having a medium to dark complexion with a slender build. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie with white lettering and white Nike sneakers along with a multicolored face mask, glasses and a headdress. Authorities believe he is carrying a pink cellphone.
The other suspect is described as having a heavier build and wearing a black jacket and white shirt with black pants, shoes and face mask.
Authorities are asking anyone with more information about the case and the suspects’ whereabouts to call Edinburg police at (956) 289-7700 or Edinburg Crimestoppers at (956) 383-TIPS.
