HARLINGEN — A woman was listed in stable condition in an ICU at a local hospital after being stabbed at McKelvey Park in Harlingen, police said.
On Thursday at around 6:45 p.m. Harlingen officers responded to the 1400 block of South Business 77 at McKelvey Park in reference to a stabbing call.
Officers arrived at the scene and located a female who had multiple stab wounds to her back area, police said.
EMS was called immediately for the female victim. As officers investigated the incident, they learned that a physical altercation had occurred between two females, and during the altercation, a juvenile male who was observing the fight used a knife to stab the female, police said.
The juvenile male suspect was located and placed into custody, charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, police said. He was later transported to the Juvenile Detention Center.
