The Pharr Police Department is asking the public to look out for two vehicles which may be driven by a 24-year-old man who is a suspect wanted in connection with a deadly home invasion which occurred Friday.
In a news release, police said they are looking for Derek Medina, who is possibly driving a blue SUV or a silver Chevrolet Cobalt listed as stolen.
Police have already arrested and charged 28-year-old Erik Daniel Garza in the case.
Investigators allege he shot and killed 26-year-old Jose Eduardo Morales.
He is charged with murder and possession of marijuana, more than four ounces but less than five pounds.
On Saturday, police chief Andy Harvey said the shooting happened in the 700 block of E. Freedom Street on Friday at Morales’ residence after two suspects broke in “demanding drugs.”
Harvey said those involved in the break-in know each other.
“Shots were fired inside the home resulting in the death of Jose Morales,” Harvey said.
Investigators found marijuana and 14 weapons, including rifles, shotguns and handguns, as well as a large amount of ammunition.
On Monday, police described Medina as extremely dangerous and said they consider him to be armed.
Pharr police are also looking for two persons of interest: 24-year-old Sixto Gonzalez and 25-year-old old Leslie Denise Medina.
Investigators are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at (956) 787-8477.
Garza remains in the Hidalgo County Adult Detention Center on a total of $1,100,000 in bonds, records show.
