3 arrested in murder of Brownsville woman

Local, state and federal authorities have arrested three men in connection with the Nov. 2 shooting death of a Brownsville woman.

Brownsville police on Monday announced the arrest of Jose Arnoldo Rodriguez, 36, Charly Angel Carillo-Torres, 33 and Jonathan Xavier Roman Martinez 33. All the men had been arrested on warrants charging them each with one count of capital murder, burglary of habitation with intent to commit other felony and engaging in organized criminal activity.

Rodriguez was arrested on two additional charges of criminal solicitation.

Police said the mens’ arrest pertain to the shooting death of 39 year-old Adela Gonzalez. Her body was found Nov. 2 at the 2000 block of Dana Avenue. She had been shot.

Rodriguez was arrested March 24, in Brownsville while Carrillo-Torres and Roman Martinez were also arrested on March 24 in San Antonio.

Assisting in the arrests are the U.S. Deputy U.S. Marshals, ICE/ERO, Texas Rangers and Texas Department of Public Safety troopers.
