DEA bust uncovers 187 kilos of cocaine, 1 arrested

Authorities from the Drug Enforcement Administration conducted a large drug bust in Pharr on Wednesday that resulted in the seizure of almost 200 kilos of cocaine and one arrest.

At about 11 a.m. Wednesday morning, DEA personnel approached a residence in Pharr based on an ongoing investigation and encountered three people, DEA Assistant Special Agent in Charge Richard Sanchez said.

According to Sanchez, a search of the residence uncovered 187 kilos of cocaine, worth a wholesale value of $4 million and a street value of over $5 million.

One person is under arrest, Sanchez said.
