CBP seizes fentanyl at Gateway International Bridge

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Gateway International Bridge seized more than five pounds of fentanyl, hidden within a 2008 Dodge Caliber.

In a news release, CBP says a 43-year-old Cuban man was ordered to undergo a secondary inspection of his vehicle. With the help of an imaging system and canine unit, officer say they found six packages of fentanyl hidden inside the car.

It all, the confiscated 5.24 pounds of the drug which has a street value of $146,915.

CBP seized the drugs and vehicle, while the suspect was taken into custody by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) special agents.
