10 more virus deaths reported in Cameron County

Ten more Cameron County residents have died from COVID-19 related causes, the county health department said Wednesday.

This raises the total number of coronavirus-related deaths here to 852, Cameron County Public Health said in a statement.

Deaths were reported in Brownsville, Port Isabel, Rio Hondo and San Benito.

The individuals included a woman in her 40s, a man in his 50s, three people in their 60s, three people in their 70s and two people in their 80s.

Also Wednesday, the health department said it has received confirmation of an additional 54 cases of COVID-19, raising the total number of cases in Cameron County to 22,276.

New cases were reported in Brownsville, Harlingen, La Feria, Los Fresnos, Primera, San Benito and Santa Rosa.

There have also been an additional 206 individuals who have recovered, raising the total number of recovered individuals to 19,184.
