More rain in the forecast for Brownsville and RGV

Minor overnight street flooding and minor power outages occurred overnight in Brownsville as Hurricane Hanna made its way across South Texas.

Winds caused some power poles to lean over and power lines to drop on the city’s west side at Honeydale and Pandana.

There are some reports that a tornado touched down near the Brownsville-South Padre Island International Airport.

Some resacas appeared to be filled to capacity and traffic lights at some intersections were blinking.

There’s an 80 percent chance of heavy rain today and a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms tonight.

The Rio Grande Valley remains under a tornado watch until 10 p.m. tonight. A flash flood watch and tropical storm warning remain in effect until further notice.
