6 Willacy residents test positive for COVID-19

RAYMONDVILLE — The state health department has found six more Willacy County residents have tested positive for the coronavirus.

County officials confirmed late Sunday the latest cases include two women in their 40s, a woman in her 20s, two men in their 40s and a man in his 20s.

Health officials are investigating to determine whether the patients infected others.

“The patients are currently isolated,” Dr. Emilie Prot, Region 11’s medical director, stated in a press release.

The health department “is supporting Willacy County in identifying any close contacts of the patient so they can be isolated and monitored for symptoms,” she stated.
