A woman found dead with a gunshot wound in San Juan has been identified, according to a release from the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office.

She was Yocelin Rodriguez, 19.

San Juan police officers responded to a car crash at Veterans Road and Hall Acres Road at approximately 2:55 a.m. Sunday. They found Rodriguez dead with a gunshot wound.

Major Crime Investigators with the sheriff’s office interviewed witnesses and learned that Rodriguez had argued with a group of men as she was leaving a party, the release stated.

The men were driving a dark-colored Dodge Ram truck that was lifted; it was a late model, though the release didn’t specify what year.

The truck’s driver reportedly pulled up next to Rodriguez’s vehicle and an unknown man shot into the vehicle and struck Rodriguez.
