Harlingen police are investigating a multiple vehicle accident that left two people dead and four others injured.
The accident happened this afternoon on FM 106 East of FM 509, near the Port of Harlingen, said Sgt. Larry Moore, spokesman for the Harlingen Police Department.
The injured people were transported to local hospitals.
Moore said the accident involved three motor vehicles and a tractor-trailer rig.
The accident scene remains blocked off, as investigators are still at the location.
Police urge motorists to stay away from the area and look for alternate routes.
