New Year to start with 3 nights of closures on Interstate 2 by the Pharr interchange

The Texas Department of Transportation in Pharr is starting the new year with fresh lane closures.

The lane closures were announced Thursday on the TxDOT Pharr Facebook page. 

According to the post, there will be nightly lane closures to the main lanes of eastbound Interstate 2 next week.

The closures will occur between the eastbound Sugar Road exit ramp and Vic Drive from Tuesday, Jan. 3 through Friday, Jan. 6 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

According to the post, the closures will take place while TxDOT installs steel girders on the new connectors.

TxDOT announced that drivers will be rerouted to the Sugar Road exit and the next available I-2 entrance ramp.
