A series of cold fronts is making its way through the Rio Grande Valley on Thursday morning and will cause temperatures to continue to dip throughout the day.
As of 7:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, it was 56 degrees in McAllen and it was 60 degrees in Harlingen. The cold front had not yet made its way to Brownsville where the temperature was 72 degrees.
The National Weather Service in Brownsville reports Thursday’s highs will be between 45 to 50 degrees. There is also a 70% chance of showers throughout the day.
There’s an 80% chance of showers for Thursday night.
The NWS reports as the temperatures drop steadily throughout the weekend and into next week, the chances for a wintry mix of precipitation will increase Sunday night into Monday.
