Cameron County reports 9 virus deaths

Nine more Cameron County residents have died from COVID-19 related causes, the county health department reported Tuesday.

Four deaths were reported in Brownsville, two in Harlingen, two in La Feria and one in San Benito, Cameron County Public Health said in a statement.

This raises the total number of coronavirus-related deaths in Cameron County to 1,341.

Also Tuesday, the health department said it has received confirmation on an additional 185 COVID-19 cases, raising the total number of cases here to 35,485.

New cases were reported in Brownsville, Combes, Harlingen, Indian Lake, La Feria, Laguna Heights, Los Fresnos, Los Indios, Olmito, Primera, Rio Hondo, San Benito, Santa Maria and Santa Rosa.
