Organizers have cancelled this year’s parade to honor veterans in Southmost.
The annual Southmost Veterans Day Parade was scheduled for Nov. 7. However, organizers decided to cancel the event because of concerns regarding the spread of the coronavirus, which has been causing the cancellations of local events since March.
“The committee would like to thank the city of Brownsville and all of their sponsors for their continued support and hope that we can count on you in 2021,” the committee said in an advertisement published Sunday in The Brownsville Herald.
Next year’s parade has been scheduled for Nov. 6, 2021.
