Cameron County officials on Thursday confirmed a fourth COVID-19 related death.
The Cameron County resident was an 82-year-old woman from the Veranda Nursing Home in Harlingen and passed away at the facility.
The woman had been previously reported as a positive case for Cameron County.
Cameron County has also received confirmation of an additional 16 reports of COVID-19.
The new cases range in age from 21 to 83.
This raises the total number of cases to 270 in Cameron County. Of those, 96 people have recovered.
