Museum to host kids art program

HARLINGEN — A summer art program is looking to bring out the more creative side of students.

The Harlingen Arts and Heritage Museum will host its annual kids’ art program this summer.

Starting June, students will be able to take classes with local artists to learn about different techniques and create their own artwork.

Students between the ages of eight years old and 12 will have the opportunity to learn about color blending, surrealism and perception.

Each week students will attend a class during the summer months and will work to create their own art.

Toward the end of the program, students will have their artwork displayed in gallery.

Spaces for the art program are limited and must be reserved through the museum.

To sign up for a specific art class please contact the museum at (956) 216-4901 and let them know which class your child would like to attend.
