United Airlines to fly nonstop from Brownsville to Chicago

Beginning in November United Airlines will star weekly nonstop service from Brownsville South Padre Island International Airport to Chicago O’Hare International Airport.

According to a news release from the City of Brownsville, the flights will begin Nov. 3 during the height of Winter Texan season and depart from Brownsville every Saturday and run through March.

United says it will continue its daily nonstop flights Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston.

“We are proud to expand our services to offer a United Airlines direct flight to Chicago O’Hare International Airport,” said airport director Bryant Walker. “These flights are an excellent addition to our services and will provide convenient travel for visitors from the Midwest including Snowbirds, Winter Texans and their families.”

According to United’s website, the flight is scheduled to leave Chicago at 9 a.m. on Saturday mornings and arrive in Brownsville at 12:29 p.m. The flight to Chicago will leave Brownsville at 1:30 p.m. and arrive in Chicago three hours later. One way tickets are as low as $175 to a high of $575 and round-trip vary from $389 to $1,149.
