Where’s the outrage?

Why are tens of millions of Americans dependent on drugs and/or alcohol?

And why virtually no coverage from the liberal mainstream broadcast and print media?

Mass shootings get the MSM’s undivided attention.

And I’m not downplaying the mass shooting deaths, but here’s some stats on drug and alcohol abuse that are virtually ignored.

From drugabuse.gov, “National Institute on Drug Abuse: Trends and Statistics: Abuse of tobacco, alcohol, and illicit drugs is costly to our nation, exacting more than $740 billion annually in costs related to crime, lost work productivity, and health care.”

From ncadd.org, “Alcohol, drugs and crime: Alcohol, more than any other illegal drug, was found to be closely associated with violent crimes, including murder, rape, assault, child and spousal abuse.

About 3 million violent crimes occur each year in which the victim perceives the offender to have been drinking …

… about half of all homicides and assaults are committed when the offender, victim or both have been drinking.”

From cdc.gov, “Fact sheets – alcohol use and your health: 88,000 alcohol related deaths each year…”

From theguardian.com, “U.S. overdose deaths from fentanyl and synthetic opioids doubled in 2016 (paraphrasing): 64,145 drug overdose deaths from May, 2016 to May 2017: 20,145 from fentanyl and other synthetic opiods; 15,446 from heroin; 10,619 from cocaine; 7,663 from methamphetamines.”

On top of that, add 44,000 yearly suicides.

What’s the underlying problem in our society? What makes so many Americans turn to alcohol, drugs, suicide, murder, crime?

Where’s the lberal media’s and the Democratic party’s outrage?

Oh wait. Don’t the broadcast networks profit $100s of millions each year from the high quality and seductive alcohol ads and intended sales?

And have you ever wondered if border wall opponents in “high” places profit from human and/or drug smuggling?

From nadcp.org – “Alcohol facts and stats; NSDUH (survey): * 86.4 percent of people reported they drank alcohol at some point in their lives.

* 70.1 percent reported they drank in the last year.

* 56 percent reported they drank in last month.

* 80 percent of offenders abuse alcohol or drugs.

* 60 percent of individuals arrested for most crimes test positive for illicit drugs.

* 60-80 percent commit a new crime (typically a drug driven crime) after release from prison.

* Approximately 95 percent return to drug abuse after prison.”

Then there’s the immeasurable suffering and effects from drug and alcohol abuse on relationships, marriages, families, and the children that witness the terribly destructive behavior and outcome of alcohol and drug abuse.

Bottom line, “No Jesus, No Peace – Know Jesus, Know Peace”. There will be no need for drugs or alcohol.

“You will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.”
