SAN BENITO — Looking to fill the summer days after school lets out?
Parents who want a productive summer for their children can look to the Boys and Girls Club of San Benito.
Registration has opened for the club’s summer program that will feature educational and physical programming, guest speakers and nutritious meals.
Boys and Girls Club of San Benito President Liz Chavez said the club has worked to improve the programming for the upcoming summer.
“We are excited about the summer program this year,” Chavez said. “The staff has been working hard to come up with a curriculum that encompasses fun, healthy lifestyles and education.”
Partnering with various local agencies, the club will host guest speakers that complement the programming.
Themed weeks such as “Superhero Week” will feature local law enforcement officers that will speak with the children about their jobs and day-to-day lives.
In addition to the educational programming, the club has also partnered with the San Benito school district Nutrition Program to offer breakfast, lunch and snacks to the children enrolled.
Chavez said the club will be capping registration this year at 125 kids to optimize the experience for those enrolled in the program.
“We have grown as a club and we are confident this summer will supersede others in terms of quality and fun,” Chavez.
Registration has been reduced to $50 per child and $45 for every additional sibling who enrolls.
