15 Harlingen South Latin students advance to state competition

Fifteen Harlingen High School South Latin students advanced to the TSJCL State Competition. The team competed with schools in Area F for their chance to make it to the next level. Students had to complete many tasks that showed leadership, integrity, community service and responsibility.

Not only did they have to pass the National Latin Exam with fewer than ten errors and place in their individual events, but they also had to obtain a grade of A or B in all their classes during the 3rd Quarter.

Caciana Sauceda – Greek History; Greek Derivatives – level 1

Judith De La Garza – Sight Recitation; Latin Oratory – Level 1

Kathryn Allen – Latin Vocabulary, Roman History – Level 1

Valeria Montero – Mottoes, abbreviations, and Quotations – Level 2

Barbara Zamorano – Classical Art History; Grammar Level 1 –

Kaitlin Villarreal – Roman History; Roman Life – Level 1

Iliana Donez – Roman Life, Mythology Level 1

Salma Torres – Mottoes, Abbreviations, and Quotations – Level 1

Harlingen CISD’s Drama Department proudly presents Chicago – High School Edition. Performances will take place at HCISD’s Performing Arts Center, located at 3217 Wilson Rd., in Harlingen.
