BCMS choirs have an award-winning year

Three Berta Cabaza Middle School (BCMS) varsity choirs recently competed at the Texas Music Educators Association Region 28 Vocal Division’s University Interscholastic League (UIL) Concert and Sight-Reading Evaluation held at the Harlingen CISD Performing Arts Center.

The varsity mixed chorus, non-varsity tenor-bass, and non-varsity treble choirs each received a trophy for their superior performances. The varsity mixed chorus and non-varsity treble choir each received a “Sweepstakes Award” for receiving straight Division One ratings in both their concert and sight-reading performances.

Over the past six years, the BCMS Greypup Chorale has established itself as a prestigious choral program in the Rio Grande Valley. The program’s consistent success and numerous achievements at various contests throughout the school year validate the high quality of musical instruction that occurs in the classroom.

The BCMS Choral Program is led by Director Eradio Martinez and Assistant Director Sarah Treviño.
