VTX1 Companies Raises $45,140 for Loaves & Fishes

RAYMONDVILLE — VTX1 Companies presented a check for $45,140 Monday to Loaves & Fishes of the Rio Grande Valley at VTX1 corporate headquarters in Raymondville.

A total of about 50 percent of the funds were raised by VTX1 employees and the balance was matched with corporate funds.

“Every year, our Christmas Committee selects a charity to receive funds from our annual fundraiser,” said CEO Dave Osborn.

That project involves employees buying from one to five extra paid days off with the funds earmarked for the designated charity.

Terry Wolfe, General Marketing Manager for VTX1, said the company also raffles off two roundtrip tickets for Southwest Airlines, as well as a weekend getaway for two.

The fundraising begins in August and runs until the evening of the company Christmas celebration in early December.

“We sincerely appreciate the support of VTX1 Companies,” said Bill Reagan, Executive Director of Loaves & Fishes of the Rio Grande Valley. “Without the support of companies like VTX1, Loaves & Fishes could not carry on their mission of offering Help and Hope for the Hungry, the Homeless and the Hurting.”
