McAllen police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in a couple of recent convenience store robberies.

The robberies took place between 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Sunday at two different Stripes convenience stores, one in the 700 block of North Bicentennial Boulevard, and the other at a Stripes in the 1000 block of West Business 83, police said in a news release.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male with a thin build and is about 5 feet, 6 inches tall. He has dark hair and was last seen wearing a grey T-shirt, black pants, white and black tennis shoes. He also used a knife in both robberies.
“The suspect stole an undisclosed amount of money,” the release states.
Police said the man was driving what appeared to be a silver, newer model Nissan Altima. The case remains under investigation.
