MERCEDES — Texas Department of Public Safety troopers have identified a Mercedes man as the victim of a fatal crash that happened on Saturday morning near Mercedes.
According to DPS spokesman Lt. Johnny Hernandez, Omar Loya, 41, rolled his 1999 Nissan Pathfinder on Private First Class Pedro Martinez Road.
Hernandez said the preliminary investigation indicated Loya failed to negotiate a curve and lost control of his vehicle.
