MERCEDES – Everyday like clock work the children from the community shuffle into the Mercedes Recreation Center to start their day of nonstop fun and games.
“We love helping our community,” said Martin Johnson Mercedes Recreation Center coordinator. “We’re getting them involved and keeping them safe off the streets.”
The Mercedes Recreation Center offers activities and free meals to more than 300 youngsters ages 6 to 18 daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at two different locations in town.
