UTRGV to host summer camp for aspiring educators

For Rio Grande Valley high school students interested in pursuing careers in education, UTRGV’s Continuing Education and the College of Education and P-16 Integration will host its second “Those Who Can, Teach” summer camp.

Students will learn important teaching skills through a number of different activities and assignments during three weeklong sessions:

· June 5-9 (Edinburg Campus)

· June 12-16 (Brownsville Campus)

· June 19-23 (Edinburg Campus)

They will work in groups to conduct research on effective teaching methods, as well as work on multimedia assignments such as posters, infographics, presentations and videos, all while using the latest cloud technology to assist them.

In its inaugural year, 15 students participated in the program. This year, 32 are enrolled in the camp.
