Police: Man holds Quick Run clerk at knife point, robs store

HARLINGEN – Police are looking for a man they say robbed the Quick Run convenience store on North Commerce Street Saturday night.

At 10 p.m., police were called to the 2000 block of North Commerce Street where a clerk told them a Hispanic man approximately 5-feet 10-inches tall, wearing a black shirt, black pants, and arm sleeves (possibly to cover his tattoos) entered the business through the west side vehicle entrance.

She said the man walked into the employee area and asked her for rolling papers.

Police say the suspect attacked the woman and demanded money. They say he held her by the neck and forced her to open the cash register all the while threatening her with a knife.

The man took the cash and ran but fortunately did not hurt the clerk.

If anyone recognizes the suspect they are asked to contact Crime Stoppers at (956) 425-TIPS (8477).
