HARLINGEN — Potential strong and even severe thunderstorms are possible tonight between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. in the Rio Grande Valley.
National Weather Service forecasters in Brownsville have pinpointed the times when a weak cold front will move through South Texas.
In the ranchlands to the north, the storms will arrive sometime between 11 p.m. and 3 a.m., forecasters say.
The main threats from these potentially strong storms are damaging wind gusts, hail and moderate to heavy rainfall.
Forecasters urge Valley residents to review storm safety plans prior to the arrival of the front, and that those with NOAA weather radios set them to alert mode.
