The Texas Department of Transportation, Hidalgo County, McAllen, Edinburg, Pharr, Alton, San Juan, Alamo, Mission and La Villa are coming together Tuesday for Operation Clean Sweep.
The Texas Department of Transportation, Hidalgo County, McAllen, Edinburg, Pharr, Alton, San Juan, Alamo, Mission and La Villa are coming together Tuesday for Operation Clean Sweep.
Street sweepers will clean bike lanes and road shoulders as part of the Run Ride and Share campaign.
A news conference will be held at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in The Monitor parking lot, followed by the cleanup.
The initiative is part of to encourage cycling and safety. Drivers should expect delays.
McAllen streets effected include:
Jackson Rd from FM 495 north to SH 107 FM
Pecan Ave. from 2nd Street to Val Verde Road
S.H. 107 from 4th Street (Courthouse) to Conway
Business 83 from Bicentennial to Conway Road
Military Road from 10th Street to Conway Road
Conway from Military Road to U.S. Expressway 83 (I-2)
10th Street from SH 107 to Dove Ave.
Main Avenue from Mayberry Road to Trosper Ave.
McColl Road from SH 107 to FM 495
