Customs officers find $275K in cocaine hidden in pickup

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized more than a quarter-million dollars in cocaine at the B&M International Bridge on Tuesday.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized more than a quarter-million dollars in cocaine at the B&M International Bridge on Tuesday.

According to an agency news release, officers sent a 36-year-old Mexican national who lives in Brownsville to secondary inspection.

The man’s 2004 Dodge Durango was x-rayed and that’s when officers say they discovered 15 bundles of cocaine hidden within the pickup.

In all the drugs weighed 35.71 pounds and had a street value of $275,400.

The driver was arrested and charged. The narcotics and the truck were seized by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) special agents.
