Dr. Raul Garza, Jr. Elementary will soon be receiving a customized $15,000 donation of brand new sports equipment. All it took was one sweet and simple photo!
Coach Mel Sosa submitted a photo of students pleading for new equipment along with an explanation of why the school needed an equipment upgrade. As a result of those efforts, Coach Sosa and the Wildcat community are getting what they wished for after the local elementary school was named the grand prize winner of the Good Sports “Let’s Play Before and After” photo contest.
Through the power of social media, word of the contest spread like wildfire and well over 10,300 votes were cast for the photo. Sometime in April or May, Good Sports representatives will visit the campus and hold an unveiling event.
Good Sports gives all students the lifelong benefits of sport and physical activity by providing new equipment, apparel and footwear to those most in need. The generous donation will positively impact the lives of many students.
