Laguna Vista to host pet microchip clinic

LAGUNA VISTA – Pet owners in Laguna Vista will be able to have their animals microchipped this weekend for only $25.

The town of Laguna Vista is partnering with Dr. Julie Monroe of the Port Isabel Animal Clinic to hosting the microchip clinic Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at Roloff Park.

The cost of the microchip has been reduced to $25 for residents.

“Dr. Monroe is a local resident. We are partnering with her animal clinic,” said City Manager Rolando Vela. “By micro chipping a pet, it helps us to identify the owner in the event the pet gets stray or lost.”

The Laguna Vista CARES About Its Pets is a month-long awareness campaign that started March 1 and is meant to educate the public on on pet care.
