The Cameron County Commissioners’ Court says it will start taking applications for the justice of the peace position left vacant by the death of Guadalupe Ayala.
County Judge Eddie Treviño Jr. said the applications will be taken until March 15.
Judge Ayala died Feb. 25 after a long battle with cancer. He was elected to the Justice of the Peace, Pct. 3 Place 1 seat in 2015.
The appointee will fill the unexpired term. Applications and resumes are being accepted at Trevino’s office
