Wanted men still on the run from police

HARLINGEN — Two men wanted for crimes that occurred over the weekend are still being looked for by two different policy agencies.

Harlingen police are looking for a Brownsville man they say assaulted a Harlingen woman.

Officers were called at 5:30 p.m. Friday to the 900 block of South Palm Court Drive where a 31-year-old woman said she was assaulted by her ex-husband, according to a police press release. Isaias Valdes, 35, has been on the run since then.

RESTAURANT ROBBER WANTED

In San Benito, police are looking for the man they say robbed Taco Jardin Restaurant Sunday morning.

Police said a man identified by surveillance video as San Benito resident Eric Gonzalez walked into the restaurant at 9:45 a.m. to purchase a soda. Police said that when Gonzalez refused to pay for it, he assaulted the cashier and stole money from the cash register.

An arrest warrant for robbery has been issued for Gonzalez. Anyone who knows where he might be found can call San Benito Police Department at 956-361-3880 or the local police department.
