A Nueces County jury has been deliberating in Yzaguirre’s case for the past two days and this morning cleared him of all charges.
Yzaguirre had been charged with eight counts of bribery, six counts of abuse of official capacity and one count of official oppression.
Yzaguirre says he plans to return to work and do the job his voters elected him to do. He had been asked to stay away from the office after his January 2016 arrest until his case had been resolved.
