Special Inspection: Local NJROTC youth show off skills in ceremony

SAN BENITO — When you walked into the high school gym yesterday morning, the cadets were already standing at attention.

They were ready.

What happened next was something the cadets had been prepping for – for more than a year.

Days spent training with their leaders for an annual inspection.

The cadets in the Naval Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps are young.

Some will go on to have prolific careers in the military and some will finish out high school as part of the NJROTC extra curricular.

Whichever path they choose, all were present and accounted for yesterday during their annual military inspection.

Chief Timothy Wilson said inspection reflects a rich heritage of naval tradition.

To start the ceremony, the armed and unarmed drill teams preformed their choreographed exhibition drills.
