Police arrest man in stabbing incident

HARLINGEN — Police have arrested a man they say stabbed another man while on the job.

Yesterday, officers were called around 11 a.m. to the 600 block of Ed Carey Drive where police say the man stabbed his co-worker in the arm.

The suspect fled the scene in a green van, police said. Before he was arrested, police said he was fleeing toward the Penita’s area.

Police said the two contract workers got into an argument while they were on the job, which escalated.

That’s when the stabbing occurred. The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and is expected to recover.

The suspect returned to the scene and was apprehended by police who were still in the area, officers said.

It is not clear why he returned to the scene of the crime, police said.
