SOUTH PADRE ISLAND — Getting lost on the Island sandbar that stretches two miles isn’t that easy.
But Island police are now investigating the whereabouts of a Connecticut woman named Emily Kutz, 22, who’s been missing since November 2016.
South Padre Island police believe she was last seen at 600 Padre Blvd. at the visitor’s center on Jan. 6 about 3:15 p.m.
But, Island police said a positive identification of Kutz was not made.
Kutz’s hair is naturally brown but it was a sandy blond last time she was seen and it is quite long, to the middle of her back.
Kutz has two small tattoos, one on the inside of the each wrist. One is the symbol for yin and yang, the other looks like the shape of a jelly bean. Both were done by her.
According to Canton, Connecticut, police the Kutz’s family filed a missing person report at their local police department to help find her on Dec. 5.
“Nobody has actually located her so we are still seeking her whereabouts,” said Lawrence Terra, a Canton police captain. “She is not here in Connecticut, that’s for sure.”
Terra said the Canton police have been working with the Kutz family to help find her.
According to the South Padre Island Police Facebook page, Kutz was believed to have been seen in the area but may not be on the Island anymore.
Island investigators said Kutz has no connection to the area.
Island police are asking for the community to notify authorizes with any information about the whereabouts of Kutz at (956) 761-5454.
