Wind advisory issues for the Valley; gusts of 45 mph forecast

The advisory will be in effect from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today.

The NWS reports a high pressure across the southeast United States interacting with a developing low pressure in the Central Plains will lead to period of strong and gusty south to southeast winds across the Rio Grande Valley.

Wind gust of up to 45 mph are anticipated.

Residents are encouraged to tie down light and moderate weight items to prevent them from blowing over.
