Police still searching for hit-and-run driver

HARLINGEN — Police have yet to catch the driver they say struck a man and woman last week on Tyler Avenue.

Thursday night just before 11 p.m. officers responded to the 1000 block of W. Tyler Ave. for a hit-and-run accident. When officers arrived, they found the injured couple on the street.

Witnesses told officers a white Chrysler 300 struck both victims and then drove away eastbound on Tyler Avenue.

The burned out car was discovered Friday afternoon near Briggs Coleman Road and FM 508. The driver is still on the run.

The victims, both in their early 20s, are hospitalized in serious but stable condition.
